How to elevate your outfits

You know what always makes me feel ten times better? A good outfit. The boost in confidence that I feel is angel-like. I always feel so uplifted and like the baddest bitch.

I am a firm believer of the phrase, “dress well, feel F*CKING GREAT”. I made up that phrase, but it’s so true. My outfits are one part of me that gives me confidence. I am a very shy person, but based on my outfits and how I move, you wouldn’t think so. The way I dress helps boost my confidence. It’s all about feeling comfortable, but most importantly feeling like yourself.

I know it can be so hard to find your own style, but honestly, play around with your style until you find something that you truly feel confident in. It’s like dress-up, and I was a whore for dress-up when I was younger.

I wanna share tips about elevating a simple outfit for those more lazy days. These tips may or may not be helpful for you, but this is something that I found works for myself and makes me feel like a true bad b!tch. I hope this can help you, too!

You can have a very basic, simple outfit on, but when you just add a little some-some, it can make it look like you tried a lot, without really trying at all. This is why we need to elevate our closet and elevate our basics. I recently watched Desi Perkins’ video on how she elevates her basics, and it really inspired me. (SHE inspires me)

I don’t think that everyone needs extravagant clothing to stand out and feel good. If I’m being honest, I only have a few pieces that are “extravagant”, but most of my clothes are basics, I just dress them up in a lot of different ways to make it seem like I have a lot of different clothes. I spend more money on my accessories than I do clothes because good accessories tend to last longer and it’s more cost efficient. By accessories, I mean items like jewelry, bags, hats, sunglasses, and shoes.

Now, when we use our accessories wisely, we can get bomb ass outfits. I would start with jewelry first. I typically start with earrings and necklaces and then build on that, based on the outfit. I have my go-to jewelry always on deck, just in case I don’t have time to go through all my jewelry, which I highly recommend. You can never go wrong with hoops- big, medium, small- those are always good staples to have. There are so many affordable sites now that have all of these items. I see my accessories as investments. It’s worth it to feel and look good, on a budget of course.

If I want to dress up a look, HEELS. I’m telling you, the best way to dress up a look is heels. You can be wearing jeans and a t-shirt, and once you add heels, BOOM, extra. You can wear sweats, and then BOOM, extra. I’m telling you, heels will be a great friend if you wanna make an outfit dressed up.

That doesn’t mean ditch the sneakers, though. You can even elevate looks when you're wearing sneakers and that is with ACCESSORIES!!

Let’s elevate our outfits. The thing is, it’s not even that time consuming to elevate a look. I’m telling you, if you feel good in an outfit, it changes the way you move. It changes your confidence. I want everyone to feel good and have that confidence. When in doubt, accessorize- bags, sunglasses, shoes! You don’t need to wear all accessories at once, be mindful. OWN that outfit, because you literally do. Keep your head held high and wear your clothes, don’t let it wear you.
